Overseas at last!!!

Tips for Phi Phi Leh 1.Do check out on the rainy seasons. Don't we all get all excited when we see low rates and nice hotel rooms on www.booking.com! 2. Do compare currency exchange rates. We found out that it is more profitable for us to change our local currency at the location we are headed to. By using bigger notes denomination will fetch a better rate always. 3. What the hotel supplying in the room for guests. Notify the hotel by all means of communication (telephone calls, emails, whatsapp, sms, fax, etc!) of your arrival time, day, date, location to pick up especially if you need to get there by sea (after landing by plane at the airport). We thought we can just take a cab direct from airport to resort, but alas the resort is accessible by sea through a boat ride!) . Do check out the boat timings and from which jetty (they call it pier). All these information (plus the hotel tel no) need to be written down on a small carry on notebook and not on the hand phone only. (Low Battery problem may arise!). 4. Buy yourself a bottle of mineral water before getting out of airport arrival hall. You do not know how long it will take you to get to your hotel destination! 5.If you need to stay connected, do get a sim card of telco company that appears on your existing hand phone, welcoming you to the present country. Usually that would be a better connection recommendation telco instead of all those telco sim cards being hawked at the arrival hall. We found this out almost as soon as we got out of the airport building and the cab driver informed us which telco has the stronger / better network. 6. Ask for directions to the local place of interest from at least 2-3 people (locals / tourists) and if possible get landmarks/ map / rough sketch of walking plan if you plan to walk there! 7. Always try to eat at places where there are lots of happy people, eating hungrily (short of wolfing down) / heartily and you feel positive vibes too! We ate pizza that was cooked in a wood fire oven and it was the best pizza I had for a long long time!!! http://ciaaratpaen.blogspot.my/
